Member of the Year – This award recognizes a member who has made an outstanding contribution to the club.
New Member of the Year (male and female) – This award recognizes a new member who has made an outstanding contribution to the club through volunteerism or his/her running performances.
Most Improved Runner of the Year (male and female) – This award recognizes a member who has shown the most improvement (based on race results, club standings and input from coaches).
Kevin Hayes Road Warrior – This award recognizes members who run an exceptional kind of race or number of races. There can be multiple recipients for this award.
Marathoner of the Year (male and female) – This award recognizes a member who has displayed dedication and performance in a marathon. Although finishing time is an important factor, it is not the only consideration.
Runner of the Year (male and female) – This award recognizes a member who has had an outstanding running season. Recipients of this award displayed dedication to the sport, determination to improve and the ability to inspire others to excel.
Special Achievement – This award recognizes outstanding achievements of members and is only given out as appropriate (not necessarily every year). Recipients are selected by the Awards Committee.
Cross Country Champions (Male & Female) – Winners of the annual Longboat Cross Country Championship 5Km race held in September in Riverdale Park.
Flying Feather Awards (7 male and 7 female) – These awards recognize members with the fastest road race times. A member’s top four road races are converted to a half marathon equivalent using the MacMillan running calculator. The average time is taken and ranked against other members. Races between 5K and 42.2K qualify. Duplication of distances is not permitted.
WMA Awards (7 male and 7 female) – These awards recognize members with the highest World Masters Association age adjusted scores. The six races to count comprise a minimum of two races under 10Km and two races 10Km or more, with a maximum of two track races under 10,000m. A marathon can be counted as two races.
5 Year Bronze Pin – Awarded to a member on attaining 5 years of club membership.
10 Year Pewter Pin – Awarded to a member on attaining 10 years of club membership.
25 Year Gold Pin – Awarded to a member on attaining 25 years of club membership.
