Kevin Hayes & the 2016 Longboat Island race shirt

The design of the Longboat race T-shirt this year is a replica of the 2003 shirt, one of many created for the race (1996 thru 2006) by Kevin Hayes; a long time, much loved member of the club who died 10 years ago of Lou Gehrig’s disease. Kevin’s death came on September 10, 2006: Longboat’s race day. This year’s shirt honours Kevin’s memory, as does the Kevin Hayes Road Warrior Award handed out each year to a deserving club member.
